ABOUT

Jonathan Gornall is a British freelance journalist and author. Formerly with The Times of London, he has lived and worked in the Middle East and is now based in the UK. He specialises in the history, heritage, politics and culture of the Middle East, with a particular focus on the six states of the Gulf Cooperation Council – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He is the author of several books, including the memoir How To Build a Boat – A Father, His Daughter and The Unsailed Sea (published in the UK by Simon & Schuster and translated into several languages); Magan Rediscovered (for Zayed National Museum) and two books for Assouline's Ultimate Collection: Riyadh Infinite and Abu Dhabi Before 1971.
